I view therapy as an act of self-discovery and an opportunity to gain insight, self-awareness, and solutions to problematic issues in a supportive, non-judgmental environment. I have worked with many clients over the years who entered therapy feeling the weight of shame, stress, regret, grief, and/or trauma and emerged from the process feeling powerful, hopeful, and more confident in their ability to handle life's challenges. In my work with adolescents and adults, I listen carefully, respond thoughtfully, and engage fully in the mutual effort towards resolving problematic issues.
People often wonder whether their issues are "serious enough" for therapy, while some believe that engaging in therapy is only for those with serious mental illness or traumatic life events. I encourage you to visit the 'Common Questions' page to learn my thoughts about those and other issues. Please don't hesitate to call or email me to schedule an appointment, or a brief consultation.
Congratulations on taking the first step in an important and rewarding journey.
